This Privacy Statement explains what personal data FaceMeet receives when you use our websites, web application, meetings, team chat, scheduling, recording and live-streaming features (the "Services"), how we use and share it, and the choices you have.
What personal data do we receive?
- Account information: name, email address, username, password (stored only as a secure hash), passkey public keys, organization, role and plan.
- Profile information: profile picture, job title, phone numbers, time zone, language and other details you choose to add.
- Meeting and service information: meeting titles, times, participants' display names, join and leave times, and settings. Meeting audio and video pass through our servers to reach participants.
- Content you create: cloud recordings, chat messages, shared files, whiteboards, contacts, booking pages and other content you or your participants provide.
- Technical information: IP address, browser and device type, and logs needed to operate and secure the Services.
- Billing information: billing contact, address, tax details, invoices and payment status. Card details are handled by the payment provider, not stored by us.
- Communications: messages you send through Contact Us or Contact Sales, and your emails to us.
How do we use personal data?
- To provide, maintain and secure the Services, including authentication, meetings, recordings and support.
- To send service emails such as verification codes, invitations, receipts and important notices.
- To process payments and keep business records.
- To respond to requests and inquiries.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use meeting content or recordings for advertising.
How do we share personal data?
- Within meetings: participants see your display name, profile picture and what you share. Hosts of a recorded meeting, and their organization's administrators, can access its recordings.
- Within your organization: owners and administrators can see members' account information and activity needed to manage the organization.
- Service providers: companies that help us deliver the Services, such as email delivery and payment processing, under contracts that limit their use of the data.
- Services you connect: calendar providers or streaming platforms you choose to connect receive the data needed for that connection.
- Legal reasons: where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of users and the Services.
Privacy rights and choices
You can view and update your profile in My Account, export your data or delete your account in My Account → Data & Privacy, and manage passkeys and sessions in your profile. Organization administrators can make data export and deletion requests for their organization in the Admin Center. You can also contact us at https://facemeet.net/contact-us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as objecting to processing or lodging a complaint with a data protection authority.
Children
The Services are not directed to children. Accounts require a minimum age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under that age without appropriate consent.
Retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services. Cloud recordings follow your organization's retention settings; deleted recordings stay in the trash for 30 days and are then permanently removed, including their encryption keys. We keep billing records and logs for the periods required by law or for security.
Security
Connections are encrypted with TLS. Each cloud recording is encrypted with its own key. Sign-in supports passkeys and email verification. More details are in our Trust Center at https://facemeet.net/trust.
Cookies
We use only cookies that are necessary to run the Services, such as the sign-in session, security tokens and your language preference. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Changes to this Privacy Statement
We may update this Privacy Statement. We will post the updated version on this page with a new date and notify account owners of material changes.
